I was having problems with my adult acne in the past one and a half years. I bought & tried so many products claimed to help with acne. Some were alright at making acne goes away quicker. Some were useless. But still, I had to deal with the problem continuously. I never had any problems with acne during my teenage years. I only had a pimple (or two) as part of my PMS, other than that my skin was very good. So having 2-3 pimples on my face all the time was something I considered as a serious problem.

One of my friends suggested The Oil Cleansing Method (OCM) to me and since then my adult acne was a thing of a past!

Basically, The OCM is a way in which ONLY oils is used to clean a face. You need 2 types of oil that mix together to make an Oil Blend. Different skin types need different Oil Blends. The most important oil is Castor Oil which has anti-bacterial & anti-inflammatory properties. Another oil to mix together with Castor Oil can be Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO), Sunflower Seed Oil, Almond Oil

Castor Oil & Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO)
I have a combination skin which is very very oily on my T-Zone & really dry around my eyes & cheeks. The ratio I use is 1:3 (Castor Oil : EVOO). I put the Oil Blend in a pump bottle for convenience & hygiene.

Since the full OCM is very time consuming process. It involves rubbing, massaging, steaming, wiping, wringing & rinsing (Phew! all those words already make me out of breath, right?)

Well, what I usually do is using the full OCM once a week to really clean deep into my skin. What I do on a daily basis is removing my makeup or any impurities on my face with the oil before I have a shower. I use 2 pumps of oil & massage it all over my face to melt the dirt etc. Wipe it off with cotton balls/pads. Then I use my favourite facial cleansing foam/wash to double-cleansed my skin.

I suggest if you have bad acne you should start by doing the full process everyday to begin with. See how your skin is after 1-2 weeks. Then you can decide whichever way works best for you.

I hope you find this post helpful & give The Oil Cleansing Method a try. It wouldn't hurt trying this new natural skincare approach, right? Well, that's what I thought when I 1st tried it. If it didn't work for me, I would stop & move on to a new one. At least I knew you tried.

Good luck!
